Driving Decarbonization in the World’s Population Center

By Eric Gibbs, SVP, Global Strategy

Long before it was training hundreds of companies in five markets across Asia, the Clean Energy Procurement Academy started as an idea: What if CEBA leveraged the power of its corporate members to lead supply chain decarbonization efforts on the world’s largest continent?

Drawing on its expertise helping corporations reduce emissions through clean energy procurement in the U.S., CEBA launched the Academy to guide suppliers in Asia on the same journey — by customizing its training to the specific procurement options available in each market.

Now in its fourth year, the Academy is flourishing. Last year nearly 800 corporate participants attended training in Mainland China, Vietnam, Indonesia, South Korea, and India, and over 90% of reported feeling more prepared to procure clean energy.

Education and training are just the first step; our goal is to catalyze clean energy transactions and drive a global carbon emissions-free energy system that serves all industry sectors.

As the Academy moves into a new phase of maturity and impact, I’m thrilled to share this video of where we’ve come from, what we’re doing now, and our aims for the future.
