Manager, Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging
Megan Sheckles is the Manager of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (DEIB), and Talent Acquisition Previously she worked as the Talent Manager + Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Strategist at Kivvit, a national Public Affairs and Strategic Communications firm specializing in talent acquisition management and advancing DEI strategy and implementation. She also held a prior role at Capital Impact Partners, the largest, national Community Development Financial Institution in the country, serving as Senior HR Corporate Recruiter, overseeing the full life cycle of recruitment, employee onboarding, and leading DEI strategy internally.
Megan brings over 12 years of knowledge and experience in various roles within human resources, specializing in building highly effective, diverse, equitable and inclusive teams with a passion for organizational development and implementation DEIB initiatives. Megan credits herself as being people-centered, which led her to obtain her Society of Human Resources Management Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) designation as well as obtaining certifications in Human Resources Management from George Mason University, the Executive Strategic Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Certification Program from Georgetown University and most recently an Organizational Development Certification from Northwestern University. Megan also pursued her MBA from Indiana Wesleyan University and holds a BA in Communications from the University of Louisville.
Megan loves residing in Washington, DC. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling and experiencing different cultures, sporting events, reading, hot yoga and great weekend brunches with her friends.
