Wellington Chu

Wellington Chu is the Senior Director, Global Programs. In his role, Wellington supports the Alliance’s programs and initiatives to drive clean energy development and deployment around the world.

Wellington was most recently a Commercial Officer, U.S. Department of Commerce with assignments in Taipei, Wuhan, Shanghai, and San Jose, CA; to promote the export of U.S. goods and services, attract foreign investment into the United States and defend U.S. commercial interests abroad. Representative accomplishments in recent years include contributing to hundreds of millions and billions of dollars of clean energy contracts through Advocacy, on behalf of renewable energy companies and their supply chains.

He previously was a marketing executive for Jaguar Land Rover China, and Ford Motor Company, Dearborn, MI. With Ford, he also held international assignments in Japan, Thailand, and China, to develop and launch new products, achieve share and profit targets, and build strong brands.

Wellington has an M.A. in International Affairs from Columbia University’s School of International Affairs, and a B.A. from the University of Michigan.
