CEBA Emphases the Customer Perspective on Transmission Planning at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission

CEBA continues to bring the energy customer perspective to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission’s July 15th Advance Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (ANOPR). This ANOPR reviews transmission planning, cost allocation, and generator interconnection processes. Holistic transmission planning is a necessary component of enabling the rapid decarbonization of the U.S. power sector.

The November 30th reply comments address the value of an Independent Transmission monitor, the benefits of interregional transmission planning, and counter the argument that holistic interregional transmission planning is an encroachment on states’ rights. These reply comments follow CEBA’s initial October 12th filing on this ANOPR.
