CEBA Encourages Texas Public Utility Commission to Identify Reliability Concerns and Support Sustainability Commitments
CEBA filed comments at the Texas Public Utility Commission on November 1 in response to the Commission’s Market Design docket (PROJECT NO. 52373). This is CEBA’s second filing on this docket. The Market Design docket is intended to address outages at the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) that were a result of Winter Storm Uri. CEBA’s November 1filing calls for the Commission to more concretely identify the reliability challenges that the proposed solutions are intended to address before adopting a technology-neutral solution. CEBA reiterates that many of its members are setting ambitious clean energy commitments in Texas and that the Commission’s focus on a resource’s fuel-source, as opposed to grid benefit, could negatively impact these businesses’ sustainability targets.
