Ellie Potter

Deputy Director of Policy & Advocacy Communications

Ellie Potter is joining CEBA as the Deputy Director of Policy and Advocacy Communications, assisting with internal and external communications to support the policy, strategy and government affairs efforts of the Clean Energy Buyers Association (CEBA).

Prior to joining CEBA, Ellie spent three years at the American Council on Renewable Energy as the Senior Public Affairs Manager for the Macro Grid Initiative, an educational campaign seeking to expand and upgrade the nation’s electric transmission system. In that role, she led a Speakers Bureau, content creation, social media accounts, and coordinated with other transmission advocates on communications campaigns. Ellie started her career as a journalist, reporting for local newspapers in North Dakota and Virginia before moving to Washington, D.C., to cover energy for S&P Global. There she covered federal policy developments affecting the electricity, renewable energy, fossil fuel, and mining industries for nearly five years.

Ellie graduated from the University of Richmond with a Bachelor of Arts in journalism and Johns Hopkins University with a Master of Science in energy policy and climate.
