Julianne Basinger is CEBA’s Deputy Director for Policy & Advocacy Communications, leading development of editorial content and compelling narratives to advance CEBA’s core policy advocacy and energy market initiatives.

Previously, she was the senior communications manager for Western Resource Advocates’ Clean Energy Program. She served as the communications lead for WRA’s policy work on climate change, clean energy transition, and pollution-free transportation and buildings, identifying strategies for using communications to influence decision makers and help accomplish WRA’s policy aims across the West.

Julianne has extensive experience as a journalist, having worked as a reporter and editor for media organizations including Associated Press, The Chronicle of Higher Education, Deseret News, and Reuters. She also was director of alumni publications and editor of Continuum magazine at the University of Utah. Prior to joining WRA, she ran her own consulting business, providing editing, writing, and strategic communications assistance to national higher-education organizations and publications. She holds a bachelor’s degree in English and French and a master’s degree in literature, with a creative writing emphasis, from the University of Utah.
