CEBA Calls for Rehearing at FERC on the Southeast Energy Exchange Market

On November 12, CEBA submitted a joint filing with coalition partners Advanced Energy Economy (AEE) and the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) requesting a rehearing at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission on the Southeast Energy Exchange Market (SEEM). SEEM was approved on October 13 in a 2-2 split at the Commission. However, CEBA and other key stakeholders noted in previous filings that the SEEM proposal falls short of bringing the benefits of a full organized wholesale electricity market to customers in the southeast. A request for rehearing would allow the Commission to revisit the proposal and to clarify differences in the SEEM proposal compared to an organized wholesale market.
